Also known as ‘wonder rooms’, Wunderkammer or Cabinets of Curiosities were small collections of extraordinary objects which, like today’s museums, attempted to categorize and tell stories about the wonders and oddities of the natural world. Each piece in my collection has its own unique history. The items range from dirt, sand, glass, dried animal bone, subway map, and rusted WWII chain. The miscellaneous material has been collected from around the world since 2001. This installation represents 18 years, 15 countries, and 5 continents. It is a continuation of my nontraditional self portraits.
